I Want to Get My Driver’s License, But Where Do I Start?

It’s easy! Start out by sending us a simple message. Finding out more information about your situation helps us determine whether you are eligible for the program you are interested in completing. Using this information, we communicate with our operations team to determine your status.

1. What’s your nationality? Some nationalities require different processes, and each situation is often quite unique. The more we know about you and your situation, the easier it is for us to sort out the logistics.

2. What is the issue date and expiry date of your ARC / resident permit? In most cases we require that there be at least 6 months left on your resident permit. It is very important for us to know this information to see whether you qualify for your driver’s license training in Taiwan.

3. Are you over 18 years old? It is required by law that all drivers license applicants be over the age of 18. We are aware that some nationalities may be allowed to drive at an earlier age in their home countries. However, in Taiwan, applicants may not be younger than 18 years of age.

4. Can you ride a bicycle? This may seem like a silly question, but it helps us determine whether you have the potential to become a competent driver / rider. This tells us whether you are able to steer, balance and navigate your way around on two wheels. If you are unable to ride a bicycle, you might need to start out by practicing on a bicycle first. We value you and your safety, which is why this simple bit of practice goes a long way to determining whether you are ready for the road.

With this information, we can give you valuable feedback and tell you what you need in order to take the next steps toward obtaining your driver’s license!
